From http://c64preservation.com/:
In honor of the (roughly) 10 year anniversary of starting the C64 Preservation Project, I am offering the newest version of the collection for "no strings attached" download to anyone via torrent.
While many different versions have leaked out over the years (No-Intro, ROM download sites, etc.) and anyone that has ever submitted images has had access to it, there have always been complaints about distribution. I still don't care if you feel that way- I've always used access as an enticement for everyone to archive their originals.
As all the main releases were archived, interest has waned and nobody sends disks or disk images anymore except a few collectors.
I am hoping this gesture will bring some people out of "hiding" and persuade them to send in images. I always welcome alternate versions, images that are unverified (lack the "!" in the name), and of course images that aren't archived yet- both NTSC and PAL. You can use the nibscan tool to do a low-level compare of your disk image to the ones in the collection. Nibscan is always freely downloadable as part of nibtools, and doesn't require OpenCBM or any hardware to run.
Notes:
Not all images work with all emulators, emulator versions, or written back to disk. Your mileage may vary. Experience and experimentation may be required.
This item contains two versions of the same set of files, both nibble copies and G64 versions. Each is in their own .ZIP file, for convenience.

This is an awesome collection of C64 disk-images, that haven't been munched or altered in any way by hackers/crackers. Great stuff. ..A small note for anyone wanting to use these in emulation: VICE and Hoxs64 can generally handle the .g64 versions of these files. These disks can't be provided as .d64 images, because .d64's lack formatting information, which needs to be included so some of the odd commercial disk-formats are preserved.

This looks like it would be an awesome collection if it were using a standard format that was usable. As it is, I'm not sure how to get these over to .d64 format where VICE can open them.
